The variety here is Primitivo – traditional to the area and the same as Californian Zinfandel. With a typical deep red ruby colour, a nose of ripe berry fruits, cherries and blackberries on the palate, with some barrel ageing softening the tannins. Great for the barbeque and with strong cheeses.
