Indigenous Austrian grape, bramble fruit, smooth and rich..

Mittelburgenland is in the south east of Austria, close to the Hungarian border, famous for the red grape Blaufränkisch. The three ranges of hills that surround the district to the north, west and south as well as the proximity of Lake Neusiedl, Europe’s largest steppe lake, have created a special wind-protected and heat-storing micro-climate. Temperature-controlled fermentation and state-of-the-art technology are the key elements to obtaining rich and succulent wines. Fruity whites are aged in stainless steel tanks for several months; reds are matured in a variety of oak barrels.

Description

The number “7301” refers to the postal code for the winery’s location in Deutschkreutz. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 16 months in small 225-liter barriques (used oak barrels).

The bouquet is complex, with dominant notes of dark cherries, blackberries, and elderberries, beautifully complemented by subtle nuances of tobacco, thyme, and clove. On the palate, it is structured with well-integrated, appealing tannins and a lively but balanced acidity. It offers a pleasant, concentrated fruitiness and a spicy, long-lasting finish.
