Description
Fruit is harvested from their own vineyards and a couple of selected growers that produce Botrytis Semillon especially for De Bortoli Wines. March sees the start of the botrytis in the vineyard developing until harvest in early May when desired sugar levels have been achieved. Many passes are taken through the vineyards so harvest can last up to 6 weeks.
Ageing – 70% unoaked, 22% staves and the remainder matured in 2 year old French oak barriques. Nectarines, citrus and quince flavours with a subtle nuttiness. Hints of oak with well-balanced acidity. One customer noted that it was perfect with stewed rhubarb! Diolch Mr Lewis!
