Vincent Ogereau is one of the outstanding producers from this dynamic region of the Loire Valley, with a domaine of some 25 hectares. Originally established by his grand-father in the 1890s Vincent took over from his father in 1989 and has now been joined by his son Emmanuel. . For white wines Chenin Blanc is king here, matching perfectly with the clay-schist soils of the region, with Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon being used for the reds and rosé. The viticulture is heading to being organic and only natural yeasts are used for the fermentations.

The Chenin grapes are harvested in separate “tries” through the vineyard, fermented in large oak barrels and the wine is left on the lees for 15 months. This produces a wine that’s intense, full and long lasting. The nose is complex with floral and citrus notes.
