This is an exceptional Pedro Ximenez from Valdespino. It is staggeringly rich and sweet and has amazing complexity. Dark mahogany in colour, the El Candado is pronounced on the nose with complex aromas of dried fruits, raisins, toffee, dark chocolate, coffee and spice. It is a delicious match for rich chocolate or coffee desserts. It also goes well with dense dried fruit puddings such as Christmas pudding. Pour it over ice cream if you want a really decadent way to end a meal.
