Vincent Ogereau is one of the outstanding producers from this dynamic region of the Loire Valley, with a domaine of some 25 hectares. Originally established by his grand-father in the 1890s Vincent took over from his father in 1989 and has now been joined by his son Emmanuel. . For white wines Chenin Blanc is king here, matching perfectly with the clay-schist soils of the region, with Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon being used for the reds and rosé. The viticulture is heading to being organic and only natural yeasts are used for the fermentations.

Aniseed, spice, graphite, earthiness and plenty of Loire Valley freshness.
Description
The nature of the soil, superficial and stony, and the south-east orientation make the Côte de la Houssaye a very hot and dry terroir which expresses a remarkable balance of Cabernet Sauvignon at such a northern latitude for this grape variety. The wine develops aromas and flavors of great aniseed finesse with intense notes of graphite, humus and undergrowth. Thanks to its freshness and structure, this wine has great ageing potential for 15 to 20 years.
