Mittelburgenland is in the south east of Austria, close to the Hungarian border, famous for the red grape Blaufränkisch. The three ranges of hills that surround the district to the north, west and south as well as the proximity of Lake Neusiedl, Europe’s largest steppe lake, have created a special wind-protected and heat-storing micro-climate. Temperature-controlled fermentation and state-of-the-art technology are the key elements to obtaining rich and succulent wines. Fruity whites are aged in stainless steel tanks for several months; reds are matured in a variety of oak barrels.
K + K Kirnbauer Chardonnay Barrique Zwickl
£23.80 Per Bottle
A full-bodied, balanced Chardonnay with oak ageing..
Description
A well balanced Chardonnay in a Burgundian style. Fermented in barriques and aged for 9 to 10 months on the lees with continuous batonnage (stirring of the lees).
The bouquet is expressive, featuring tropical and exotic fruits like pineapple, mango, and lychee, mingling with ripe pear and green apple. These fruit notes are layered with hints of vanilla, toasted almonds, and blossom honey. Medium-bodied and a dense, creamy texture with balanced acidity and a long finish. Great with creamy pasta dishes!
