Foliette Pinot Gris

Denis and Eric, partners for 25 years, share their passion and expertise to create a range of Muscadet with strong characters.

Vines have been present on the banks of the Loire since Roman times. At La Foliette, the oldest documents are dated from 1635 and there is evidence of the exchange of plots of white grape variety vines, which clearly demonstrates the precedence of the cultivation of vines on the Estate.

Here is a chronology of the history of the Domaine de la Foliette:

• 1926: Joseph Brosseau moves to La Foliette. The property then consisted of a bourgeois house and a 14-hectare vineyard grouped around the Château.
• 1928: Joseph Brosseau creates the “Domaine de la Foliette”, at the same time the “Muscadet Sèvre et Maine” appellation of origin is born.
• 1988: Denis Brosseau, Joseph’s grandson, moves to the family farm.
• 1996: Eric Vincent joins the Foliette and takes charge of the vineyard part, Denis takes care of the cellar part.
• 2000: First certification with the Terra Vitis Label
• 2019: First year of organic conversion
• 2021: The estate has expanded and is now 40 hectares in 3 communes: La Haye-Fouassière, Haute-Goulaine and Vertou, which places it ideally in the Muscadet vineyard.
